The annual celebration is coming up fast. Denver Comic Con takes place May 31 – June 2, 2013, at the Colorado Convention Center. While it is a comic book convention, there is a myriad of panels, guests and activities for any “Doctor Who” fan. Being as this is the 50th Anniversary of the show, Denver Comic Con has an amazing line up planned to join in on the celebration. The local “Doctor Who” experts Heather Maloney and Michelle Talkington will be your guides through the many planned panels. Along with their gang of Whovians, topics will be discussed from Audio Books to Companions.

Sad news, true believers. Stan Lee announced today that he will not be attending this year’s Denver Comic Con due to a scheduling conflict. Announced to be attending in a video played at last year’s event, many fans were excited to meet one of their heroes. As one of the cornerstones of Comic Books, Stan Lee is a living legend. The scheduling conflict sited was due to filming a cameo in an upcoming project that could not be rescheduled. Denver Comic Con did advise today that they will be announcing an additional guest to their lineup. “Star Trek” fans rejoice! Denver Comic Con has announced that William Shatner will be attending this year’s event. So not only will George Takei and Wil Wheaton be there, now Captain James Tiberius Kirk himself has been added to the guest list. While Shatner has appeared at Colorado conventions before, such as Starfest, it will be amazing to see the interaction between him and Takei. (continue reading at Examiner.com)
The truth isn’t always what you ask for, especially in Peter Davison’s newest adventure with “Doctor Who”. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Doctor Who”, Penguin Books UK and Puffin Books are releasing e books each month in 2013 featuring one of the eleven Doctors and written by a famous children’s or young adult’s fiction author. After a long period without new music from her angelic voice, Agnetha “Anna” Fältskog has released a new album titled “A”. With singles released throughout Europe and with success in many countries, the album has become a hit. In its first week, “A” reached sixth place on theOfficial UK Albums Top 100. With a mix of new sounds and also songs reminiscent of her previous hits, this album is a must have for ABBA and contemporary music fans alike.

From leatherworking to steampunk, Costume Con 31 has something for every fan of costuming. This convention is the premiere event for artists and includes a wide variety of panel programming. Rarely does an episode of television genuinely surprise and terrify viewers. Neil Gaiman’s newest episode of “Doctor Who” does both in excess. As a world-renowned writer, Gaiman consistently brings readers into his magical world of dark fantasy. The ease and caliber of his writing in regards to “Doctor Who” becomes even more suburb with each venture. “Nightmare in Silver” is not only a wonderful episode of “Doctor Who”, it highlights each character’s strength beautifully creating a terrifying work of art.
