It is rare that one learns about fandom in such an intimate and entertaining way. “Queers Dig Time Lords” is finally available to purchase. Published by Mad Norwegian Press, this book delves into the thoughts and viewpoints of “Doctor Who” from the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) community. In a collection of essays, many influential fans took pen to paper in order to explain a bit of why they love “Doctor Who”. Edited by Sigrid Ellis and Michael Damian Thomas, the book includes sections by many contributors such as John Barrowman, Carole E. With a year of planning and hundreds of volunteers, Denver Comic Con took place May 31-June 2, 2013. With almost double the attendees as the first year of the event, there were some growing pains, however the organizers worked hard to ease the impact of the large numbers of attendees. At a convention that is centered on the celebration of Comic Books, “Doctor Who” was a cornerstone of paneling, cosplay and discussion. Taking place at the Colorado Convention Center on May 31- June 2, 2013, Denver Comic Con more than doubled in attendance since its first year. The popularity of “Doctor Who” also grew since last year’s event. With six full panels and two amazing question and answer sessions, “Doctor Who” became one of the most celebrated franchises at Denver Comic Con.
