Many reference books have been released, however quite a few of them are either too large or only deal with modern “Doctor Who”. The “Doctor Who CharacterEncyclopedia” is refreshing because while it covers characters throughout all 50 years of “Doctor Who” it is organized in a novice friendly way and also gives one just enough information to not overwhelm or ruin a plot. The second annual Denver Comic Con is only months away. Many Denver area fans are counting down the days until they can celebrate their love of comic books and science fiction with thousands of their closest friends. Taking place at the Colorado Convention Center from May 31 – June 2, comic books artists, creators, writers and publishers from all over the world will be under one roof. For the third time since they reunited in 2008, New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) are returning to the Denver area in concert. Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood will be performing at the 1st Bank Center on July 16, 2013. Their amazing guests for “The Package: North American Tour” are Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees.

New “Doctor Who” fan film “Besieged: Part One” is helping to change the perception of fan films. While many think of basements, cardboard sets and foam props when one brings up the idea of fan film, many new fans are changing the perception. Ryan Hendrick and crew have not only succeeded in making a quality fan film, they even utilize cross-fictioning to bring the story to life.
The latest in ‘The Companion Chronicles’ series, “House of Cards” was released in February by Big Finish Productions. Viewers of “Doctor Who” can expand their fandom through the audio dramas and audio books by Big Finish Productions. “House of Cards” is a Second Doctor story staring Anneke Wills as Polly Wright and Frazer Hines as Jaime McCrimmon. Written by Steve Lyons and directed by Lisa Bowerman, this suspenseful tale will leave listeners yearning for more adventures in the TARDIS.
It was another amazing year at Gallifrey One. Every February, “Doctor Who” fans descend on the Los Angeles Airport Marriott for the annual Gallifrey One Convention. As the world’s largest “Doctor Who” fan convention, the event is a must attend for any die hard Whovian. This year’s event took place February 15-17, 2013, and was full of amazing announcements.
