Gallifrey One
It was another amazing year at Gallifrey One. Every February, “Doctor Who” fans descend on the Los Angeles Airport Marriott for the annual Gallifrey One Convention. As the world’s largest “Doctor Who” fan convention, the event is a must attend for any die hard Whovian. This year’s event took place February 15-17, 2013, and was full of amazing announcements.
One of the most highly regarded fan films of 2012, “Power of the Daleks: Reimagined” made its North American premiere at Gallifrey One in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 16. A modern take on the lost Patrick Troughton episode from 1966, this Reimagined version allows fans to experience the story on screen for the first time in over 40 years.
The TARDIS has landed at Gallifrey One! Whovians from around the world gather at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott on Friday to take part in the world’s largest “Doctor Who” convention. Taking place from February 15-17, actors, directors, writers, contributors and fans come together to celebrate their favorite television show.
In this the 50th anniversary year of “Doctor Who”, Examiner had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Frazer Hines at the GalaxyFest convention in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As Jamie McCrimmon, Frazer Hines appeared in 116 episodes of “Doctor Who” which is more than any other companion. Not only did he travel in the TARDIS with Patrick Troughton from 1966-1969, he also appeared in “The Five Doctors” and the “The Two Doctors”. Frazer Hines discussed with Examiner his thoughts on the longevity of “Doctor Who” and even the upcoming 50th Anniversary Special.
